Valentine' Day Event
Love is Love is Love. Everyone has a right to love and be loved. The State Constitution should not descriminate against people because of who they love!

MLK Day Event
From the marches with Martin Luther King, to the protests in Wisconsin and the anti-worker events at the MN Legislature this past session, unions have an important role to play in the fight for social justice. In January, Local 151 members gathered to hear one of MLKs speeches, learn about current legislative attacks on our rights, and gain information about defeating the anti-marriage amendment.

GLBT Equality - The 7/11/11 VOTE NO Event
AFSCME 151, in conjunction with Local 8, sponsored our first official LGBT Equality event. We kicked off our new committee and spread the word about the importance of voting down the proposed Constitutional marriage amendment in 2012. We logged over 115 attendees, signed up 21 phone bankers and 4 new members. This great event was truly a community effort, with homemade cookies, lemonade, and literature. Thanks to the Marriage Amendment committee for all of their efforts to put on this wonderful educational event!

May 23rd at State Capitol - The Last Supper and Rally
151 members in solidarity with Council 5 members from around the state, and MAPE (Minnesota Association of Professional Employees). We came, we ate, we sang and chanted and stomped - all in the name of a fair budget solution for MN. AFSCME members also made a strong showing of support for Marriage Equality, with suppport stickers popping up everywhere! Thanks to all from 151 who turned up.
