Crisis Connections

AFSCME’s newest members are the phone counselors that work the suicide prevention hotline at Crisis Connec-tions. Around the clock, 365 days a year, they work to keep their callers safe. After 10 months of bargaining and dozens of hours at the table, phone counselors still don’t have a deal. What do they want? Decent schedules, credit for seniority, fair pay. They want the same things we already have. They are bargaining with Canvas Health, a non-profit that does plenty of business with Ramsey County Social Services. So far, Canvas Health would rather stall than deal; would rather pay big fees to Union-busting lawyers than raises to hard working, caring staff. Please go to the union website listed below and fill out the online petition—ask the Canvas Health Board to settle this contract!
