Hello my labor family, allies and collaborators!

In unsettling times it's up to us to care for each other. We know that many in our community are worried for themselves and their friends and families. We also know that we must begin to rebuild relationships in our labor family, if the labor movement is going to survive. We invite you to  join SPFE for a day of Democracy Defense training on Saturday, February 8, 2025, 10am - 3pm at SPFE, 23 Empire Drive, St. Paul, MN 55103. This meeting is in-person only, and will not be recorded.

We'll start in the morning with some training and practical skills for protecting others, especially our BIPOC, immigrant, and LGBTQIA+ community, and finish the day with a skills training on how to have difficult conversations with colleagues and community. Lunch will be provided.

The work of protecting each other and defending our democracy will require us to stay vigilant and engaged over the long haul, so it’s important for us to care for ourselves as we do this work. Coming together not only helps us to share skills, but to provide emotional support for each other.
